Coming from the Mass. Pike, take Exit 2, ("Lee"), and turn left at the end of the ramp. Take the first right, marked "Route 102 to Route 7". In Stockbridge, follow Route 7, turning left at the Red Lion Inn, through Great Barrington, to Sheffield. Approaching the Main Street in Sheffield, Route 7 takes a big bend to the right, marked with yellow-and-black arrows. Take a left on Maple Avenue. (If you reach the Sheffield Mobil Station, and little Main Street, you’ve just missed Maple Avenue.) Follow Maple Avenue across the Housatonic River bridge, and bear right on Hewins Street. Two miles on the left you’ll see the sign: "Orchard Shade", at 999 Hewins Street. |
